All our plays, the Junior Prom. our teachers true, NVill remain Within our thoughts the long years throughg Now the Class of '56 must say goodbye- Oh Dear Old Bridgeport Iligh. -hy jean Craig 25 CLASS HISTORY As bewildered but enthusiastic little Fresh- men, we approached the bottom of Sunny Hill, the mountain we were about to climb. Mr. Har- ry Wagner was chosen as our guide. We thought he needed some help so we elected as officers the following: President .............. ........ G erald Mountain Vice-President ........ ...... L arry Neuhardt Secretary .......... ..... A rlene Stazenski Treasurer ............... ...... C arolyn Redman Since we were going mountain climbing we thought a good motto would be Push, Pull or Get Out of the Way. Along the way we sw some carnations blooming in the cleft of a rock, and thought that these hardy little flowers sym- bolized the spirit of our class as we embarked upon this expedition. We chose the colors blue and gold to be our colors because they sym- bglized the sky and sun toward which we were climbing. After we had climbed a Way up the mountain, we took a rest, had a dance and held a play called Swept Clean off Her Feet. The first stage of our climb came to an end and we looked forward eagerly to the Sophomore Plateau. On the Sophomore Plateau we got a new guide, Mr. Henry Frizzi, and elected some new officers: President .................................... Gerald Mountain Vice-President ........ ....... M ary Kademenos Secretary ............. ............... I ean Craig Treasurer .............................................. Paul Kuhar This part of our climb went by in a flash, but we did produce a play called Love Hits Wil- berf, We also had a dance. On the junior Plateau we are quite sure of our footing and not a bit bewildered any more. We thought a change of officers might be good for the class so we elected the following: President ...................................... Larry Neuhardt Vice-President ........ ...... G erald Krahel Secretary .............. ........... E dith Kolb Treasurer ...... ..... F rank Ledvinka When we came to a stretch of flat land, we decided it was time to hold our Sadie Hawkins Dance, so we chose these comical Dogpatch characters: Lil Abner ............ .......... G erald Krahel Daisy Mae .............. ...... R ose Romanoski Mammy Yocum ........ ..... C arolyn Redman Pappy Yocum ......... ....... G erald Lattocha We also produced a play called Aunt Cathyis Catf' When we were nearly ready for Senior Pla- teau. we spent some of the money we had earned at the refreshment stand for a big dance. The Iunior-Senior Prom, for our predecessors, the Seniors. Well, when we reached Senior Summit, we knew that our climb was over. We elected some new oflicers: President ...... ..... F rank Ledvinka Vice-Pres. ..... ................ E d Kren Secretary ...... ........... .... E d ith Kolb Treasurer ................................. Gerald Mountain We also got a new guide, Mrs. Alessi. Our biggest moment on Senior Summit was the Homecoming game and dance. At this dizzy height, as dignified Seniors, we undertook the task of producing a three act drama called The People Versus Maxine Lowe. The Iunior climbers who were following in our wake honored us with a dance, the junior- Senior Prom, in the merry month of May. Now, Baccalaureate has passed and Com- mencement has come into view. We are looking forward to new heights. We hope that our fu- ture climb will be as successful and happy as our climb up Sunny Hill.
