SUPERINTENDENT'S MESSAGE TO ANNUAL STAFF AND STUDENTS OF BRIDGEPORT SCHOOL SYSTEM The school year of 1956-57 is proving to be a most pleasant one for me. For your splendid cooperation and attitudes, Iam highly grateful. The Adminis- tration is aware of and appreciative of the fine work which the Annual Staff has so unselfishly given through the year in making this year's Annualone of the best. Public education in this area is probably due for its greatest growth in the near future. The patterns of conduct and principles of learning which the student body as a whole has set this year will go a long way towards raising the stand- ards of Bridgeport school for future student bodies. It has been my aim this year to conduct this school in a dignified,scholar1y attitude with a Christian environment for each of you, enabling you to grow in all departments of life to the fullest extent possible. I pray that each of you will continue to take advantage of every opportunity to learn graciously and to grow wholesomely. My door is always open to each of you for advice orhelp at any time. Sincerely, J. O. Edwards Superintendent Msxx

Q surf? TO THE STUDENTS, ANNUAL STAFF, AND FACULTY I sincerely appreciate this opportunity to express my thanks for your coopera- tion in helping us to carry out a well-rounded and progressive school program. We hope that the training and knowledge which you have gained here in Bridge- port High School will always be an asset to you. May it help and aid you in becoming a better citizen in our community or the community in which you may live in the future. We are proud of the privilege we have had in associating with you, and hope we have enriched your lives by teaching you the responsibilities as a citizen in our Democracy. May you always strive to continue your growth in knowledge. Only through knowledge can we, as individuals, overcome our difficulties, solve our prob- lems, and make America a better place in which to live. Sincerely, fflsfegzf R. L.
