CURRICULUM Central High School began in 1916 when more than a thousand eager students entered its halls seek- ing the opportunity to speak a language, to learn a trade, and, in general, to get a well-balanced educa- tion. Today, more than four decades later, its walls enclose nearly twenty-six hundred pupils, all endeav- oring to complete that course which will thoroughly prepare him for his future vocation. ln order to aid the students in obtaining the re- quirements for his particular field of work, it was necessary for the school to set up three different cur- ricula: College, Secretarial, and Practical Arts. Fresh- men may use the first year as an exploratory one in which to decide upon the curriculum they will want to pursue during their remaining years in high school. Another asset to the student in Central is its capa- ble faculty composed of well-trained educators, whose goal is to give us an adequate foundation for working and living in our democratic society. Each year, seniors leave filled with the knowledge that will enable them to attain success. Dressmaking is creating. -Q Let s check the figures carefully
