DEDICATIQN DR ARTHUR C SIDEb The 1953 Criterion is ded1cated to Dr Arthur C Sides respected and admired principal of our s hool terminated 1n December of 1952 at which time Dr Sides announced his retirement A native of South Groveland Massachusetts and a Dartmouth graduate Dr S1des came to Central as a mathematics and history teacher after obtaining his degree of Doctor of Pedagogy from New York University in 1914 After serving as a member of the first Psychological Company in World War 1 he returned to C ntral as assistant prmcipal The year 1940 saw Dr Sides become acting principal held until his ret1rement We now extend our sincerest thanks to him for his guidance and untiring efforts on our behalf Hivmg learned that th man who sat behind th t foreboding door was one of great warmth and char acter the Class of 19'Sw and future classes regr t having to say a final farewell fi f , 'ln 'Y . . . av .
