Under the able leadership of Miss Ada V. Hallock and the direction of the capalwle oiiicers, the Know' YourfCity Cluh has enrolled many Watves and has given these wanderers the oppor' tunity of finding their groundings. Every other Monday, in eahin 224, you can find these eivic minded Navy members planning trips to hetter acquaint themselves with the many civic and social agencies of Bridgeport. This year's ofiieers are: Althea Scanzillo, presidentg 'lean ilaeohs, vieefpresident: Hertha Hein, seeretaryg and Edith Barrett, treasurer. The 46 girls in the cluh were divided into four groups each under its own leader. Theresa Boschetti, Frances Skorol, 'lean Parry, and Martha Mavrogianes were chosen to till these positions. This year the KnowfYourfCity Clulw visited the City Hall, the International lnstif l 19 V 0 A. B. C. D. Re- gardless of the war and its demands upon the students' time the eluh has been able to enlist a large group of girls who have laeen eager to participate in the clulfs activities. Witli their added knowledge of Bridge' port, memhers of the Club have promoted interest in civic welfare, and they have ear' ried on an informative and educational prof gram. A. B. C. D. SQUAD The A.B.'C.D. Squad works in the galley seeing that everything is kept in shipfshape order. Supervised hy Dean -lulia C. GERMAN CLUB Standing hy the theme of its Constitution, the German Cluh with its seaworthy ad' viser, Mrs. Carolyn Terwilliger, devoted the Ereater part of the year's program to the study of German culture. Several very suceessful programs, including ones dedif cated to Usland, Goethe, and Schuhert were presented hy the talented memhers of the organization, Mr. Irving Perkins, fa-'ulty memlaer ol' the Science department, hiflited one of the meetings with a performance of some of Sehulaerts finest works, and the def lightful musical ahility ot' Raymond Mon' toni, Stanley blarowowski, and Bill Vars helped to make the year more enjoyahle. To eelehrate the Yuletide Season the menilners of the German Clulli featured .1 play, Frohe Vxf'eilinaeliten . Those who partieipated were Gilhert Vxfaldhauer, Alf lireda Danilt. julia Gravitch, Lueille Corho, and Michael Delia. The ofheers who helped sleer the eourse of the eluh were: Francis Miller, president: Michael Delia, treasurerg Gilbert Vxfaldhauer, secretaryg and Robert Baum, ehairman of the program committee, tm LATIN CLUB Holding its own on the 'AGood Ship Cen' tralu this year is the Latin Clula, with Miss Emma S. Day at the helm. Its aim, to pro' mo,e the students' interest and knowledge of Latin, as well as to provide for social gatherings, was stressed throughout the year. The Latin Club, with a novel idea for the arrangement of its programs has had each of its niemhers serve on the eommittee which is supervised hy Ramona Riecio. In this way every memher hrought forth his own ideas of what comprises an interesting program. During this successful year the memhers have enjoyed Latin Bees, Latin Bingo, and have sung songs such as America , and The lvlarines' I'Iymn in Latin. At Christ' mas the eluh presented a play. carols. scripf ture readings, in Latin, and enjoyed refresh' ments under the supervision ot' Ramona Rieeio, They also welcomed Dr. Sides as the gL1CSt of litmof.
