SAFETY CLUB There are safety problems hoth on the high seas and on shore for the ollieers and crew niemhers of the Good Ship Central , and the Safety Cluh is the organi:ation that takes care of these matters in ship shape manner. Miss Ada V. Hallock is at the helm of the Safety Cluh and guides it in the study of preservation of human life hy means of safety measures. Uflicers of the Safety Club include: Louis Casillo, presidentg .lean Parry, vieefpresident, Rose Marie Garrison, seeretaryg james Begg. treasurerg and Sidney Bridgeforth, director of social activities. As an inspiration for the cluh a jingle contest was held to promote safety on the decks. The oflicers of the eluh judged the many jingles that were entered. The top men were Louis DeProfio, first prize winner and Lois Carlson, second prize winner. The jingles were: Follow with care the safety rules, They are very handy tools, Use them faithfully every day, They are good friends in work and play. and Help put Nippon in a hearse Make your motto safety first . Many line posters have been made hy memhers of the crew and exhihited in the passagcways. A conference held at Bassiek High School was attended hy many memhers who are making an effort to sand and canvas carelessness and promote safely.
