Margaret Mendillo, Bridgeport High School, Clerk. ' Department Heads. Blanc Qllnugblin wright ibeah of ibisturp Emartment The death of Mrs. Jane Coughlin VVright, on March 25, ended a period of suffering long endured and courageously borne, and it took from the ranks of the B. H. S. faculty an out- standing teacher of long and faithful service. NVith her keenly alert mind, her wide read- ing, and her ready humor, she was an excellent companion. As a teacher of history she was actuated not only by the desire to have her students master facts, but still more by the pas- sion to have them think for themselves and form those independent judgments which should train them for future citizenship. As a friend, she was keenly interested in the wel- fare of her pupils and ever ready to speak the word of counsel or lend the helping hand. Many a boy has found a home problem lightened, an ambition quickened, a determination strengthened by her understanding and encouragement. With her the pupil was always more than the subject, and in her passing B. H. S. has lost a capable leader and a devoted friend. There is no death.-- They only truly live Who pass into the life beyond, and see This earth is but a school preparative For larger ministry.
