The speech Club is a club designed to pro- vide a means of learning for interested speech students. Their programs included touring Theatre Memphis, hearing a speaker from Barbizon School, and watching perform- ances of dramatic interpretation. The Future Engineers had two vis- itors from Memphis State who showed slides on engineering while talking about the availability of jobs in the Memphis area. At one meet- ing, each member had to build a structure during a given period of time. The sponsor was Mr. Stan Peppenhorst. Week I Aw The Bible Club this year has had three speakers to help them in their growing awareness of God. First, Willard Wiles spoke on how to know the will of God. David Wooten, a member of the club, spoke on how to be a good witness to God. And finally, Bobby Mullins sang and told how a person can tell if he is saved. Mr. David Lewis was the sponsor. Week I B The Bible Club through the course of the year heard numerous speak- ers. Michael Ross, a teacher of an adult Sunday school, gave a talk on discipleship for believers in Christ on the basis of Scripture. The next guest speaker, Corky Chiles, gave a slide presentation while he talked about the growing ministry in the prisons of Tennessee. The club then decided to have their dues pay for Bibles to help Corky continue his ministry. Mr. Loden showed the club the validity of the Bible through examples of fulfilled prophecy. They also had two men give their testimo- nies with songs while playing the banjo and guitar. They also explained how to become a believer in Christ.
