The Future Engineers had two vis- itors from Memphis State who showed slides on engineering while talking about the availability of jobs in the Memphis area. At one meet- ing, each member had to build a structure during a given period of time. The sponsor was Mr. Stan Peppenhorst. puma- UNIOR CIVITA The Junior Civitan is an organi- zation for students concerned with helping the school and com- munity. They had two major pro- jects this year. Coloring books were taken to Le Bonheur Chil- dren's Hospital at Christmas and apples were given to the teachers for Teacher Appreciation Day. The sponsors were Mrs. Hendrix and Mrs. Booth. The speech Club is a club designed to pro- vide a means of learning for interested speech students. Their programs included touring Theatre Memphis, hearing a speaker from Barbizon School, and watching perform- ances of dramatic interpretation.
