They collect coins rather than spend them. The members hold auctions and exchange coins among themselves. The last part of the year an investment committee was formed to improve club funds. 49

Dramatics Club The Dramatics Club develops self-confi- dence along with acting ability. Members of the club learn not only the art of char- acter portrayal, but also about backstage duties, equipment, and scenery. Everyone in the club has an opportunity to do every job. 1 Debating has always been an excellent way of sharpening the mind and transposing one's ideas into words. This year's debating team found much enjoyment and stimulation Working on the topic, '4The United States Should Promote a Common Market for the Western Hemisphere? A part of the Red Cross organiza- tion, ,Iunior Red Cross member- ship is open to both boys and girls. This year club members visited the children at the Gatchel School every week, helping them with various projects or entertaining them. They sponsored a drive to collect clothes for the Appalachian Mountain and prepared a provision chest of school supplies, musical instruments, and toilet articles to send overseas. The pur- pose of the Science Club is to give those who are interested an oppor- tunity to broaden their knowledge in various scientific fields.
