The major emphasis of the mathematics program at Briarcliff is on the college preparatory phases of the subject. Five years of math through calculus and analytical geometry are currently being taught. - This year the Secondary Mathematics Study Group material is being used by all the advanced math classes in an effort to give the advanced level student the benefit of recent changes in the approach to teaching high school mathematics. An effort is being made to give more practice in the lab, thereby giving the students the opportunities to seek answers rather than have answers provided, to verify conclusion and to pursue special personal scientific interests and Curiosities.
