igrnphvrg Looking up English history during the Middle Ages, I came upon a picture of a typical medieval village It was so realistic that suddenly I found myself walking dorn the road on the village's outskirts I had walked only a short distance wden a great cloud of dust accompanled by loud shouts came barreling towards me Jumplng out of the way just in the nick of time, I recognized Pat Mihalko and Joe Piatkowski on the souped up hay wagon which flew past me Proceeding cautiously on my way, I came upon a small farmhouse just in time for supper Nancy Jackson greeted me at the door and invited me in Coming through the entrance, I saw Frances Smith cooking supper at the hearth After a delicious meal, they told me that they raised flowers to sell in town at the nRoya1 Ragweed Shoppe I asked if they had any information about our former classmates and they both began talking at once It seems that next to Nancy and Frances's Javid Dano had a huge dairy farm which was very successful By this time it was getting rather late, so we decided to continue our talk in the morning The next day, not wishing to overstay my welcome, I started for town at dawn Half an hour later I was touring the market place While wander1ng thereln I accidently knocked over a display of apples into the road Cstreetl and the owner, Carol Andrews, rushed out and called for the village guards, Roger Roberts and Albin Rucki They seized my arms and hurried me into the gaol I was then escorted into the chief magistrate's office and while waiting for Tom Brown to appear, I chatted with his secretary, Carolyn Christiansen One hour later T m walked in, and the town scribe and painter, Frank St Dennis, informed him of the situation Carol told her side of the story and I, after her To make sure he made the correct decision, Tom called in Pat Weeden the tax collector, and Andrea Wright, the town crier The issde was settled in my favor and soon I was on my way But just to make sure I didn't get into any more mischief, Judy Pritchard, famous detective, followed me Qecause of the little incident, I had missed my dinner so I began looking for a ace to eat 1dn't ha e to search long for a few buildings down I spied the Blue Boar fname of a restaurant! I entered and Rlchard Fgnazyck, lord of Nearby Manors, discussing business A few seconds later, Judy Ano, the waitress, appeared and took my order -gy was dressed in green and gold tights and wore a little green beanie for a hat played the lute and sang several popular ballads Before lea ing I went into the kitchen to compliment the cook I didn't recognize orge Strobel at first because his face was covered with flour from an accidental fall in the k1tchen's huge flour bin But the sound of his voice assured me that it was he lly Ingersoll was sitting in the corner peeling potatoes I greeted her and learned she was an apprentice cook, and would soon go to the castle to help prepare for the Dragon Celebration which was that night Upon finding this out, left to go to the castle immediately On reaching the street, I noticed a traveling magic show wagon slowly proceeding down the road I caught up with it and asked for directions The driver looked very familiar, but with his beard, I couldn't quite place him I starred at him for a second longer and then I knew it was Victor Sokoloski He was traveling incognito and using the name of 'The Cap and Bells' due to certain circumstances It seems that his faithful assistant, Ronnie Sam son, had unintentionally told the sheriff in the prev ious town 'lust what was in his Geritol for All formula which they sold to the public End now was being detained Vic said he was headed for the castle, so I rode there with im Fifteen minutes later we reached our destination and began to cross the drawbridge Upon reachlng the other side our identities and purpose were checked by the entrance guard, Fred Mur hy de let us pass and I hopped off the wagon to do a little touring on my own I decided to look at the grounds I1PSt and came upon a miniature park There Joyce urower, Carol nweeney, and Jayne Smith, three ladles in wa1ting,were playing a game of tennis Mary Ann vitch was sittlng on the sidellnes, refereelng and keeping the score I watched them for a whlle and then decided to go on in to the castle I went by the stables on my way and saw Vic conversing w1th one of the grooms, Roscoe Bowen, probably trying to persuade him to become his new assistant I entered the castle via the kitchen Just in tlme to wltness a quarrel between hris Persons, the chief cook, and Leonard Woodlll, the King's page Upon noticing me, they stopped and Leonard left the kitchen with a tray of food probably meant for the Klng, so I decided to follow So many people were bustling around that I went unnoticed until we entered the main hall and once more I felt myself being carrled out by the arms, only thls time I 27 S5 'r -.
