CLASS HISTORY Well, Seniors, we are almost ready for graduation and the time is going fast. As we walk through these halls for the last few times as a class, we begin to reminisce about when we first began our education My goodness, it seems just like yesterday' We trooped into the Reber House for Kindergarten where Mrs Eggleston met us and tried to reconcile us to our new fate Our new friends were Alice Cyr, Boots Fitch, Shirley Kirk Jerry Pfendler, Connie Powers Irv Sattler, Connie Seymour, Sally Wolff, Pat Woodill, Rosemarie Kessler, and Dick Williams What a time we had, and don't we sometimes wish we could start from there again? We then went on to the first grade with Mrs Caruso for a teacher and were soon introduced to Sandy Coahn Inez Higby, Dan Schue, Marg Conway, Bruce Cummings, Tony Snyder, and Sue Forand In second grade our teacher was Miss Welch, Ed Regner, and Barb Vollmar Joined us In third grade, much to our sorrow, we had to split up, and Mrs Manning took 3 A while Mrs Glouse had 3 B That year, Dawn Casanova, Irene Leichty, Nancy Phillips, and Annette DeVoe Joined our ranks The big event of the year was the circus held by 3 A on the playgrounds and 3 B was invited That brought us to the fourth grade with Miss Allen and Miss Iseneker as our advisors There we were introduced to Forrest Bartelotte, Ronnie Bourgeois, Florence Pfendler, Walt Presta, Doris Weaver, Elizabeth Dolan Carlton Heller, Norma Jones, Linda Brooks and Karl Joslin We all went to the Shriner's Circus in Utica In fifth grade our advisors were Mrs Cady and Mrs Davis During that year we had our first class dance in our old gym We joined with the sixth grade for the dance and our parents were all invited My, how grown up we all felt, and though we didn't realize it, we still had a long way to go That year John and Jackie Yager, Shirley Sokoloski, and Judy Brandis came to stay By the time we were in sixth grade, Alex Daskiewich Dick Charbonneau, and Janet Leffingwell were with us and Miss Ruchti and Mrs DuBois had to put up with the deviltry which has seemed to follow us through the years By the end of the year the girls were self conscious and the boys iust could not see combing their hair The next year, in the seventh grade we made our debut into the High School world What a bunch we were, fresh out of grade school and gazin at the upper classmen as if they were stars that we would never reach, our advisors were Mrs BJorkman and Mr Hughes Highlights of that year were a picnic ai.Mrs F1n1gter'scamp at Onei da Lake and a class party at Connie Powers' house Jim Mercer was the only new arrival in 7 B but Joe Jones, and Phyllis Linck Joined 7 A Soon it was eighth grade for us and though Mrs BJorkman was still the advisor for 8 A Mr Hughes left and Miss Beeman took his place for 8 B They surely had a lot to put up with and we owe them a lot for being so patient That year we had a big class party, and don't forget Mr Barraco's Social Studies class and the picnic we went on at the end of the year Jay Hughes and Frances Carey Joined us, and at the end of the year we had the ever dreaded Re gents which though hard, saw all of us through into the ninth grade As we moved 1ntn the ninth grade we gained the company of B111 Paczkowskl At last we were in High School We had Our Freshman dance which was a big success for we made about S200 In that year our members began to have extra interests such as band, chorus, basketball, cheerleading, soccer, baseball and other activities The presidents were Harold Fitch and Richard Williams Mrs BJorkman left us and Mrs Freeman took her place as one of our advisors In no time at all we were Sophomores What a time we had that year' We sponsored the 'Mr Sunshine Show', which was another success to add to our growing 11st It paid for our Albany trip with Mr Roemer We lost more water guns out of the window on the way home that day' Our presidents were Tony Snyder and Joe Jones Our class was growing for we now had 56 members That year our basketball team came in second, Eddie Tony Jay, Forrest Dan, Irv, and play on the new gym All of a suddengwe were Juniors, and united the years So far I think our Junior year was the which were directed by Miss Angelakos and were a Ronnie were on Varsity and among the first to under one president, Bill Paczkowski Of all most successful We began with the plays hit to say the least What a time we had dig ging up costumes of the 'Twenties' for 'Thanks Awfully' with Jerry as the only boy with thirteen girls, and don't forget 'Dress Reversal' which was a hit 1n 1tself We had a full house that night and cleared about S170 Miss Angelakos was presented with a kitten Later we took the plays to Turin Next in our events was a spaghetti supper which because of the hard work be came another success We were Joined by Romey Gallo, Gail Sturdevant and Muriel Baker At last came our Junior Prom which was combined with the Lewneida League Ball Everyone had a nmrvel ous time, including the many parents who came We spent a week or more on decorations and our theme was 'My Blue Heaven' The Silver Moon Orchestra played and the Quintones sang a few numbers Tony Snyder was elected king How grown up we all looked in our formals and dress suits' And now we have achieved our goal, we are Seniors It seems a bit odd that we shall soon be leaving this place where so many of our happy and carefree years have been spent We are making history 1n Boonville because this year our french exchange student, Francoise Joset,w1ll graduate with us She 13 the first exchange student to come but we hope there will be many more We are the largest class to graduate from B C S and also the first to g0 to New York on our class trip We are looking forward to a good time and how can we miss when we have such a record for good times behind will be here We shall be leaving and college, business schools or But whatever we do, we shall which we shall never forget 14 us? We shall have our Senior Ball and then the day of graduation we have our whole futures ahead of us Many of us are going to into nursing, many of us will settle down and raise our families always recall our years here and this has been a part of our lives .
