IT was a fairly simple and floppy round cap ThaT was made beauTifuI by The embellishmenTs added To iT. In iTs plain sTaTe, iT looked like a bereT of Today's fashion. No ScoTTish cosfume was complefe wiThouT The CoroneT or The kilT, which was a plaid l'skirT. Each clan was represenfed by iTs own coaT of arms and CoroneT. Evenfually, The name was changed To l'bonneT. Some bonnefs had Juniper bush, Laurel, pine needles, eagles feaThers, or oTher wild flowers affixed To The righf or lefT side. Specific clans used specific badges like These as Their idenTifying marks. IT was These various badges ThaT made The bonneT beaufiful. lVlosT of These clofh bonnefs were dark- colored. Dark blue was a popular shade among The clans. A brighfly- colored cloTh ball was fasfened To The Top in The cenTer of Thebonnef. Some Scofs of nobiliTy wore Clogaids: mefal skull caps ThaT proTecTed Their heads beTTer Than cloTh bonnefs. They were elaborafely jeweled To show off The miliTary sTrengTh of The ScoT.
