Cfadri alrlirifory Five of the Seniors, Marilyn Whitehall, Mac Wilson, Tom Ansert, Ed Meyers, and Duane Harper, have attended dear old Brewster School since starting in the first grade, the teacher being Mrs. Moore. In 1943 Jerry Wilson started the first grade, and later skipped the seventh grade to join us in the Sth. In the second grade, Big Ive Kimball honored us with his presence, coming from Okanogan. George Driskell, from Tacoma, also joined our class that year. In the fourth grade, Pearl Howell entered our happy little gang, moving from Tonasket. Our fifth grade found us receiving two happy students--Donelle Paslay from Oregon City, Oregon, and Shirley Riggan from Sheridan, Arkansas. In 1948 a handsome lad, Fred Davies from Okanogan, joined us. Another lad entering was Dave Hammons from Bridgeport. The seventh grade brought a landslide--five new students. Howard and Orvis Guenther, and Joe Cleveland from Monse, Glendal Fitzhugh from Leola, Arkansas, and Betty Jo Pool from Tahlquah, Oklahoma. In 1950 we gained two more students: Scooter Mason from Wenatchee, and Dave Van Loan from Richland. During our first year of high school, Pat Steele joined us from Nunda, New York, and Larry Tex Miller from Grand Coulee. We shall never forget what we went through to become full-fledged Freshmen--initiation! ! In 1952 two football players joined us. Ed Shirk from Grand Coulee, and Ken Rutherford from San Francisco, California. This year, as Sophomores, we really initiated the Freshmen, and also held a very success- ful Handsome Harry and Pretty Polly Dance. Deloris Shrable from Cashmere joined us as a Junior. This year the outstanding event was the Junior Prom with Queen, Scooter Mason, and King, Fred Davies, reigning. Another social high light was our Junior Play, Second Fiddle, where Jerry Wilson found himself engaged to Glendal Fitzhugh and married to Marilyn Whitehall. Girls' State representatives this year were Scooter Mason, Betty Jo Pool, and Donnelle Paslay. Our mighty Senior year became more interesting as Leon Bartley from Seattle, Barbara Guilliams, Richland, and Della Mathers, Bellvue, entered Brewster High. We shall remember our Senior year for our successful Senior Ball, with Glendal Fitzhugh and Leon Bartley as royalty, our Senior Sneak, enjoyed by all, and our Senior Class play, Everybody's Crazy, directed by Jerry Wilson. The class of '54 has some outstanding students. Boys well known for their athletic ability are: Jerry Wilson, football and track, Orvis Guenther, football, basketball, baseball, and track, boxing and wrestling, Dave Hammons boxing and wrestling-, football, and baseball, Ivan Kimball, football, basket- ball, and baseball, Ed Shirk, football and basketball, Ken Rutherford, football Joe Cleveland, football and basketball, Dave Van Loan, football, Fred Davies basketball and baseball, Tom Ansert, football, Duane Harper, baseball. The girls, too, were active in Pep Club, Girls' Club, and Dramatics. The cheerleaders for the season of '52, '53, and '54 were chosen from our class. We Seniors feel that these memories of our school days will be cherished in our hearts, and that these years were numbered with the happiest years of our lives. 44
