CLASS HISTORY In the fall of 1956 as a g1Ol1p of eager ambltlous freshmen we swarmed through the doors of Brewel Hlgh School determined to make our mark on the pages of school hlstory After careful thought and due del1berat1on we chose officers to lead our class They were Robert Blanchard W1nn1e Graham Joan Glbson and Barbara Chalmers One short year later we returned once more to the old hlgh school th1s tlme a llttle older and wlser The ofllcers chosen were Ronald Gnen Jamce Sawyer Grace Grant and Gayle Drmkwater It was dur1ng th1s year that the Sophomore Class sponsored the first Sadxe Hawkms dance an exent whlch proved a great success A Jun1ors we proudly entered a brand new school bulldlng It was 1n th1s bulldmg that some of our greatest talents 1n sports be- came apparent Dave Falley was outstandlng as a track man wh1le Danny Coombs was developmg h1s golden touch w1th a basketball But sports were not the only act1v1t1es 1n whlch we excelled Our Jun1or Exh1b1t1on speakers-Bob Blanchard Gayle Fer11s Gary MSlV1D, James Kelley Penny Memmelaar Bob Klng Ronnle Gwen Mary Al1ce Byther all d1d a fine Job We proudly sent delegates to Glrls and Boys State ln Ju11e They were Janlce Sawyer Anne Pooler Gayle Drmkwater and Anna Poberts Mary Al1ce Byther and Penny Memmelaar were alternates The boys who represented the class of 60 were Robb1e Kmah Alan Leathers Jlm Leathers Dave Farley Ronnle Gwen and Dav1d Shlbles To chmax one of the fullest years ln our hlgh school Ines elex en of our classmates were elected to the Nat1onal Honor SOC18ty Judy N1les Anne Pooler Anna Roberts Annette Levesque Janlce Sawyer Penny Memmelaar Harry Bowden Alan Leathers Ponnle Gwen Dave Farley and Dave Shxbles were the people chosen by the faculty for membershxp ln thxs club Our final year at Brewer Hlgh School began w1th a good football season Our stars were Ronme Gu en and J 1m Garrlty Our basket ball team led by SGDIOYS Danny Coombs Alan Leathers Dennls Vamdestlne Palmer Llttle and Dave Farley went mto the Eastern Malne Class L Tournament w1th a Hrst place polnt ratmg and came out Wlth the Eastern Malne Class L Champ1onsh1p Th1s was the first tune a Brewer team had reached the top And so end our four years at Brewer Hlgh 13 ' D ..
