The English Dept., for the second year, offered nine-week mini courses in various fields of English. There were many definite advan- tages to the mini-course. Students were able to select courses which more nearly fit their individual interests, abilities, and needs. With the addition of seven new courses, and one new teacher, Mrs. Carol Waterson, the English Department offered a wide variety of courses, from Relationships Between Man And Woman to Introduction To Literary Criticism. Some students were dismayed by the choice of English courses offered during a nine weeks, but usually schedules and classes could be worked out so that the student was in a class he was interested in and could benefit from. Teachers were able to spe- cialize in subject areas which in- terested them and for which they were prepared.
