Behind the scenes of the smooth-run- ning efficiency of Brevard Senior High School is the remarkable strategist known to students and faculty as MRS. CUDD. Whether it be the complicated task of giv- ing each senior his long-awaited class ring or managing the business affairs of the school, MRS. CUDD is always at hand. No matter how difficult the task, she always has a pleasant word for everyone, be it student or teacher. No matter how busy, she can always stop to listen to anyone's problem. Her courtesy and deep devotion to the school is recognized and appreciated by all. lt is in sincere appreciation and deep affection that we dedicate the 1962 BRE- VARDIER to you, MRS. FOREST B. CUDD. MRS. CUDD, as seen by students, is often found here at her desk. But she is also seen throughout the school, distributing the teachers' pay checks, at the intercom making announcements, or in MR. KIMZEY'S office tak- ing dictation. Her life is the full, busy one of a compe- tent secretary. With tearful eyes and ioyful hearts, we, the class of 1962, prepare to enter a new era of our lives. As we survey the future, our minds are flooded with countless memories of the past three years at Brevard Senior High School. We recall clearly the dismay of being lost Freshmen for two years, but yet the excitement of moving into a new, modern school was quite worth having to accept this lowly station. Throughout the past three years, our class has continually distinguished itself intellectually, athletically, and socially. Nothing can compare with the immeasurable joy and pride we felt when our Blue Devils won the i960 State 3-A Championship, or when we realized that all of our 26 ...Ji- he THE PAM GALLOWAY , 1 Secretary KAY FOSTER Treasurer diligent labor and profuse preparations had p1'oduced a truly unparalleled Evening in Paris for our Junior- Senior. The success of our riotous Junior play, Onions in the Stew , gave us great satisfaction, as did the choosing of our class rings. How difficult it was to find adequate time for a con- ference with Mrs. Lavender, to call a senior class meet- ing, and to get our college applications in the mail on time. In spite of the hectic pace of our senior year, we still found time for the most important activity of all--- studying. As graduation leads us into the adult world, we real- ize that whatever the future may bring us, we shall have these precious memories to treasure forever. Junior Gfficers Junior play, special courses, extra privileges, Junior- Senior Prom, selecting of class rings, first class meeting- these are some of the highlights of the iunior year at Brevard Senior High School. For the first time in their high school career, they have been able to make their own decisions, make definite plans for their future, and lead rather than follow. Theirs has been a year of activity beginning from the first school day in September and ending at the seniors' graduation. Several of their classmates were enrolled in advanced and college level courses, while 52 dramatic-minded students participated in our successful junior play A Connecticut Yankee in King Artl1ur's Court . With the profits netted from their play, they staged the beautiful Junior-Senior Prom in honor of the graduating seniors. As they watched the marshals lead the class of '62 down the aisle on graduation night, they realized for the first time that next year they would have the tre- mendous responsibility of setting the example and help- ing others gain by their experiences. . , .
