In the fall of 1955 we, a group of mixed-up, little freshmen , entered the scene of B.H.S. We soon became familiar with the routine and struggled through English themes, math problems, and Latin coniugations. Two of our boys were on the Debating team and traveled to Boone. We had district and state winners in the 4-H demonstrations. The months passed quickly. As sophomores we enjoyed teasing the new freshmen as we had been teased. The first popularity king was elected from our class and several of our girls were chosen as cheerleaders. Two of our members attended the State Page Twenty-Six . . . . . . President . . . Vice-President . . . . . Secretary .. Treasurer Fair in Raleigh, some were elected to the Student Council, others made the football and basketball teams. Summer vacation was soon over and we returned as upperclassmen, at last! Two of our junior boys were co-captains of the football team, the Junior play was presented, class rings were chosen, and the Junior-Senior was declared a big success. As the year draws to an end,we realize it has passed all too quickly. It is hardly believable that we who entered as freshmen in the fall of '55 will be great Seniors next year-then graduating in '59.
