f 4D§ AND T4§H€N§ ' St)- ' S Brevard fashions, every year, spell VARIETY. Todays fash- ions are free-style: anything goes. Oversized, baggy clothes are in, along with the Surfer look. Most of BC ' s fashion depends on the clothes available, no matter what the color. The Polo shirt is still in, but some fashion makers button all buttons to the very top. Jeans with holes and torn shirts provide the lived-in look. Boxer shorts appear outside the long pants. And since the old looks never die, paisley is back. Anything tie- dyed matches anything that isn ' t. Short hair is definitely com- ing back for men and women. Mohawks, Fades, and shaved heads with designs on the side are common sights. Gold is still the popular jewelry, even though Swatch watches are still hang- ing around. Guys and Girls have pierced ears — now even double pierced! Reeboks are the ' In sneak, with or without socks. And high tops aren ' t just for basketball anymore. The ever-loving jeans jacket is still popular with everyone. To sum it up, fashion is whatever is easiest to put on at 7:00 in the morning! Left: Robert McRoberts and Pat Mellon despairingly try to act natural in front of the camera. Lower Left. The Resident Directors, Julie Johnson and Diane Hoffman, are mak- ing a great effort to unify Jones so that the students will no longer think of themselves as East Jones or West Jones. Additionally, Diane is organizing a club unique to Jones which will deal with special projects such as holiday decorations and Halloween and Christmas par- ties, just to name a few. Jones ' Resident Assistants and representatives in SQA are very active and try to interact with the students i n Jones. There have been many im- provements and additions to Jones this year (Diane Hoffman and the freshmen, to name a couple), but there are some good things that have been retained from last year — like Julie Johnson, who is now also Assistant Director of Housing — and let ' s not forget the sophomores! All in all, Jones is a fine place to live — as its residents will readily attest. — Bari Siegall 18 Jones
