The Life and Culture Series this year provided a great many different forms of entertainment. One of the highlights of the series was Preston, The Magician. Students are not likely to forget Preston ' s amazing power over their friends through hypnosis. Another treat was the presentation of Once Upon A Mattress ' ' in the newly renovated Dunham Auditorium. Even Brevard ' s own faculty was represented when Artist-in-Residence, Anthony Sirianni, impressed everyone with his excellent performance. Many groups on campus attracted students. In clubs or teams students became acquainted with others who had the same interests. We could join clubs reflecting our religious beliefs such as Kappa Chi, the Methodist Student Movement, and the Canterbury Club. We could also join academic or athletic clubs such as Phi Theta Kappa, the Swim Club or the Rugby Club. The Spanish Club and Circle K were among the cultural and service organizations on campus. Several new clubs were formed to widen the selection for students. These included a Young Republicans group, a campus firefighters group and students who gathered to play dungeons and dragons ' ' on Sunday nights. Introduction 1 1
