Impressing Prospective Students — Dean of Admissions Robert McLendon, Dean of Admissions, directs the student recruiting program for Brevard College. Dean McLendon and his admissions staff are known for the interest they display toward incoming students and their needs. He works closely with the admission counselors and with the Student Ambassadors, who conduct tours of the BC campus for prospective students. Through the diligent work of Dean McLendon and the entire admissions staff, enrollment has increased steadily during the past several years. Aiding Students Daily — Dean Houk Mary Margaret Houk, Dean of Student Affairs, assists students with their usual and not so usual dilemmas. She also directs student housing. Dealing effectively with students is a vital part of Dean Houk ' s responsibilities. In addition to her regular office hours, Dean Houk performs many off duty tasks which include dealing with special student problems and attending various meetings, such as those of Student Government.
