Acting President and Dean of Administration A MESSAGE TO THE CLASS OF 1952 My Dear Friends: The two years you have spent at Brevard College have sped away on the fleet wings of time. It seems incredible that they have passed so soon. They have, none the less, been years crammed to the brim with many good things. Friendships have been cemented, new avenues of learning have been opened up, broad vistas of service to a troubled world have emerged upon the horizon of the future. For these things and for many more I hope you will always have a tender spot in your heart for the Alma Mater. The future has been unpredictable for every generation, including yours. The Keys of success, however, have always been the same. They are knowl- edge and wisdom, courage and perseverance, loyalty and integrity. May you carry these Keys at all times. The Late King of Briton. George VI, several years ago quoted these lines in a New Year ' s Message to his people: And I said to the man who stood at the gate of the New Year. ' Give me a light that I may tread safel 1 - into the unknown. ' He replied. ' Go out into the darkness and put your h.ind into God ' s hand, and that shall be to you better than a light and safer than a known way. ' May you have learned this lesson well during your stay at Brevard Col- lege, so that as you leave us each one of you may start down the corridor of the years with your hand in the strong and tender hand of God. Always your friend, J. J. Stevenson, Jr. ?v ' ' ' Wtmito ■■ ' ?-. ' ?■. ' d ' lv-- ••■■ f? rMmM ' imwMmmx
