Ji- eSSaac to the Class of 1950 Sixteen years ago Mrs. Coltrane and I came to Brevard to open Brevard College and attempt to operate it on a progressive basis. We encountered some problems in the beginning which we did not expect, but we have continued the effort. Year after year the results have been encouraging, but there have been plenty of difficulties which had to be overcome. The time has come now for a younger man to take the helm and carry on the program of the college. We are expecting to retire on June 1. We shall always hold in our minds and hearts the most pleas- ant memories and warmest feelings for the students who have passed through these halls and are now living their own lives in the complicated society of today. We can only bid the members of this year ' s class a fond farewell and pray God ' s richest bless- ings upon every member of the class.
