Our PRESIDENT And We are living in the most strenuous period in American history. There has not heen a time since the founding of the Republic when the college graduate faced such tremendous obligations and opportunities. Conditions call for courage and intelligent action. In your years in Brevard College you have had occasion to be courageous and intelligent. It is now time for these qualities to become habitual. It is difficult to predict just what your experience of the next several years will be. We sincerely re- quest you to keep in mind the lessons you have learned in college, and thus the col- lege will live in you. Our best wishes will follow you — whether you become warriors on the field of battle or keepers of the home fires here in your native land. Eugene J. Coltrane, President of the College DR. E. T j COLTRANE, p u Guilford College, A. B., 1907; Columbia University, A. B., 1925 High Point College, D. Ed., 1937 flM
