CGC g Brescia's chapter of the Council for Exceptional Children is part of an international organization designed to foster increased public awareness of the needs of exceptional children and to help provide services in these areas. C.E.C. members also receive a journal describing new andlor successful approaches to workingo with exceptional children. The Brescia C.E.C. sponsors an annual 20-mile walk to raise funds for this area's special education programs. This year they conducted an experimental workshop on Songs for Camp and the Classroom and received several requests for repeat performances. In cooperation with the Special Education Department they sponsored a Teacher Effectiveness Training Workshop for all education majors and area teachers. Brescia's C.E.C. also worked closely with the Opportunity Center School on its bowling and swimming programs for the mentally retarded. President: Bonnie Zumbiel V.
