S olicitor Edward Franz Walter Scott 24 5l,l,Z2.Q!1l2'lf.QI'l.dQI'lf, Class of 1957: Because you have helped me to stay young in heart, and be- cause you have helped to make my iirst year in Brentwood a pleasant one, I am thankful. You have done more than your share in causing me to continue to be glad that I am a teacher and can be with young people everyday. You are idealistic. You are not afraid to meet head on any challenge which the World may present. You do not believe that a job cannot be accomplished because somebody said it could not be done. You dream. You dream of a better world where the laws of the jungle will no longer prevail in any form. You dream of the part you will play in the great drama of life and not of empty pleasures and idleness. At this graduation time my special hope for you is that you do not permit these traits of youth to vanish with the years. You are still the captain of your soul. C. A. Sherman 25 To you, the class of 1957, may I extend my personal congratu- lations for a job Well done. You have the honor of being mem- bers of BrentWood's silver anniversary class. This year marks the twenty-Hfth year since the high school opened its doors, and the twenty-fourth annual connnenceinent. We are just as proud of your school accomplislnnents as we are of the twenty-three classes that preceded you. I hope you will make us justly proud of your future endeavors. Continuously strive for the top. Keep your standards high. Pledge yourselves to a life of devotion to your community, your church, your country. Be a solid citizen in every respect. In and out of the four doors of an English Vic- arage galloped two American ex-actors, a cockney maid who has seen too many American movies and a prim Spinster of thirty-five. Four men dressed in clergyman's suits bafHed the audience. One was an escaped prisoner, and another a sedate bishop who was aghast at all the confusion. These characters became hilariously involved in helping the audi- ence to decide who was the real Vicar, The play was under the direction of Mrs. Vir- ginia Shew and the Student Director, june Darling.
