:ERVICE JOYCE OPTEKAR ROBERT RUDOLPH ATHLETES Nancy and Alton are our athletes. Natural ability and continued practice have made Nancy a part of every intramural team that wants to insure winning. Alton, as co-captain of the football team, has demonstrated that he is interested in Brentwood, not himself. Whether as captain of the football team, as letterman on the varsity basketball team, or as a weight man in track, he is always there, always trying. He is an example of the kind of spirit Brentwood wants. We are proud of both. lVIRGINIA FORD JOHN SATTELE THE MINARET Ioycels problem is the editing of living news in the Minaret while Bob must make the paper self supporting. When news beats must be covered, cuts engraved, editorials written, and proofs checked, an editor needs all her skill. And when this collection, in newspaper form, must be paid for, then the business manager must be ingenious. The Minaretv editors provided both these qualities. NANCY CULP ALTON DOBSON IN STRUMEN TALISTS Talented Virginia and Iohn have long been the backbone of our instrumental de- partment. Skilled musicians, technically trained, they serve as models for younger players. Better than that, they are models of dependability. Ready to work, ready to serve, they are as quick to offer service now as they were when they first tried for their chairs.

THE ANTHEM Nancy and Gerald organized the writing of this year's volume of The Anthem. Their achievement represents hours of labor in school and at home. More than that, they have cheerfully accepted the criticism that accompanies any responsible position and, with real leadership, have successfully drawn the best from their classmates. If the 1954 Anthem is a success, most of the credit is theirs. H--X CHARLES O'DATO IOSEPHINE COLUMBUS VOCALISTS Through junior and senior high school Sally and Dave have sung their Way. From choruses, to senior choir, to ensemble and octet, they have practiced conscientiously. With experience has come skill Which, added to natural singing talent, have made their voices such an important part of our singing high school. ggi!- HON ORIN GERALD RUBENSTEIN NANCY ETZEL THE STUDENT FORUM The Student Forum serves the school through its governing power. Iosephine and Chick have always been ready to do Whatever job the Forum has for them, regardless of the time needed or the Work involved. Their con- tributions have continued Whether they were recognized by election to office, or Whether they received no recognition at all. This is the measure of real service. DAVID FERO SARA COLLIER
