Corps Adds New Spark to Halftime Activities In June tryouts were held for the new Flag Corps. Twelve girls were selected by a panel consisting of lVlr. Wayne Maxwell, Mr. Mark Pease, and the drum majors. Darla Syler and Cindy Hamerick were selected as co-captains of the squad which consisted of four seniors, two juniors and six sophomores. The Band Parents Club organization provided the uniforms for the group which was to add color to the band performances. While many of their routines were worked out by the Corps itself at their after-school practices, some were learned at camps and workshops throughout the year. Nlr. Pease helped critique the practices and perform- ances forthe corps. The Flag Corps participated in all of the halftime shows at football games, 'went with the band to contest, and marched in parades, including Cotton Bowl Parade of Champions. 2
