Rallies Feature Skits, Dances At the pep rallies, you sat bored wondering iust what the connection was between what the cheerleaders were saying about going down the river and partying hearty and 1 football. You didn't mind though, you were getting out of class. Then you realized that what was said was not relevant, but what was happening was. The desire for vic- torious Friday nights was beginning to build in you, the rest of the stu- dent body who were present, and, most importantly, those guys we called the Cubs. You started clapping your hands and stomping your feet and making all the noise that an excited fan tends to raise in support of his team, and in support of his class. You sang all the words that you knew to the Alma Mater and you sat through the senior yell even if it didn't please you. And you even for- got that you were getting out of class. 1. Cub captains Willie Thomas, Steve Whittaker, and Willie Hickey receive gifts from Belle officers Christi Haskins, Paula Gregg, Regina Ellermann, and Lorri Gaskamp. 2. Students Pictured Behind the Scenes While some students spent their time sitting on a bench reading, others were busy giving a speech in front of class. Some spent their time helping others break into cars, while others watched photographers take their pictures. Many invested thcir time by sam- pling their own creations to see if they were fit for human consump- tion. The conservative people just sat in the library all day attempting to finish their assignments so they could run around all night and have a good time. 1.
