Cheerleaders Win Spirit Stick Again The cheerleaders brought forth new ideas. They sectioned the students by classification. This organized the pep rallies tremendously. The cheerleaders attended a summer camp in which they won the spirit stick. They brought home the new spirit and many new cheers. The mascot was Cheri O'lVlal- Iey and the head cheerleader was Suzanne Perry. The sponsor was Mrs. Dannie Klebold. l 1 l ! x l t Y 5 5 s

Rallies Feature Skits, Dances At the pep rallies, you sat bored wondering iust what the connection was between what the cheerleaders were saying about going down the river and partying hearty and 1 football. You didn't mind though, you were getting out of class. Then you realized that what was said was not relevant, but what was happening was. The desire for vic- torious Friday nights was beginning to build in you, the rest of the stu- dent body who were present, and, most importantly, those guys we called the Cubs. You started clapping your hands and stomping your feet and making all the noise that an excited fan tends to raise in support of his team, and in support of his class. You sang all the words that you knew to the Alma Mater and you sat through the senior yell even if it didn't please you. And you even for- got that you were getting out of class. 1. Cub captains Willie Thomas, Steve Whittaker, and Willie Hickey receive gifts from Belle officers Christi Haskins, Paula Gregg, Regina Ellermann, and Lorri Gaskamp. 2. Key club- bers Gary Averitt, Robert Stewart, and Ken Sommers perform a military skit. 5. Laura Hajovsky and Randy Teufel lead the per' cussion section to aid cheerleaders. 6.
