Cubs Third in District ln the first three games the Cubs downed Rockdale, 14-10, Waco Connally, 32-7, and Aldine Eisenhower, 15-14, but lost the next two games to Columbus, 18-6, and Cuero, 33-O. Coming back to defeat Tomball, 13-6, the Cubs then lost to Hunts- 1 ville, 41-12. Another loss, this time at the hands of the A8tlVl Consoli- dated Tigers, 9-6, compounded the sorrows since it was Homecoming night. Bouncing back to win a tough battle against Navasota, 8-O, the Cubs then went on to win their last game ofthe season against Katy, 22-14. JVS Finish Third in District On August 8, the J.V.'s hit the practice field for their two-a-day workouts. They were coached by Conley Brown and Bruce Bramlett. During the two weeks the coaches got the play- , ers in shape and taught them new skills. They improved themselves by going against the var- sity.
