Council Stays Busy For those of you who think the Student Council hasn't done much this year, here is a summary of this year's activities. They began the year with a registration assembly where the school leaders were introduced. After the assembly they conducted a freshman orientation complete with a tour of the school and a pep talk. The club's first major task was putting the park- ing Iot in order. This included getting every moving vehicle on campus to purchase a permit and trying to persuade the faculty to park one row over. These tasks were not easy. , Next, they progressed on to the elections of class officers and representatives. They loaded the entire council on a bus to goto Bay City for the fall conven- tion. After the election of homecoming queen, the Council began working on a bundle of special pro- jects, such as presents for the young and the old at the State School. By sponsoring a Christmas door decoration contest and decking the halls with Christmas cheer, they spread the holiday spirit. They brought back the tradition of ten outstand- ing seniors and held class favorite elections. The Council attended the Spring CVASC conven- tion in Katy where they were elected to the office of Parliamentarian. During the last part of the year they held their final money raising project, a talent show. So, you see, they have been quite busy.
