Students Show Academic Skills The University interscholastic League contests are held every spring. This com- petition requires academic skills, often overlooked, but is what school is all about. It gives students opportunities to compete with students from around the state. These contests let them show what they have learned during the school year. Two students earned chances to com- pete at regional contests. Cathy Tabor placed 3rd in Editorial Writing and Tammy Ahrens placed Sth in Typing. 1 1. Mrs. Joan Givens 'and CathyvTaboi:,and UIL iudges' remarks. 2 Regina Ellerman and Connie Maass compete in the district typing. 3 Mr. Carl Mertink coaches Bobby-Pfennig for the science competition 4. James Linville passes the time between journalism contests. 5 Cynthia Becker awaits UIL results while looking through a magazine.
