Jets Visit Science Academy Only seniors who have taken or are enrolled in physics or Chemistry ll are eligible for membership in the Junior Engineering Technical Soci- ery. Officers were Michael Hohlt, president, Joe Garnett, vice-president: Kyle Dannhaus, treasurer, and Lauren Harrison, secretary. Mr. Jim Van Eman sponsored the club. JETS took field trips to the Alcoa Aluminum Plant in Rockdale, the Breeder Reactor at the University of Texas, and science labs in neigh- boring towns. Their tours of these plants gave them insight into the types of work and career opportunities available in the science field. 1. Brian Dickschat furthers his study in physics, -' ' 2. BHS Students Select Favorites ln the later part of the year the different classes elected favorites in one of the most controversial elections ever held at Bren- ham High School. A one-round voting proc- ess was used to insure that representation was equal for the majority as well as the minorities. After the election was held, there were congratulations as well as complaints which raised the question of, How can a whole class have lust two favorite students? 1. The Senior class favorites are Alvin Hall and Ella Marshall. 2. The Junior class favorites are Benita Rob- erts and Lee Twiggs. 3. The Sophomore class favorites are Janice Walker and D. A.
