Z i lf e-B4 HOMECOMING DAY A giant pep rally the next morning, featuring ex-cheerleaders, opened activities for that day, October 26, That afternoon after school the band led a procession of the entire student body downtown, where another pep rally was held on the courthouse lawn, Highlighting the doings that night was the crowning of the Homecoming queen, The four candidates representing the four class- es at BHS had campaigned industriously, and now everyone was anxious to see who was the winner Qmiddle rightj. Elaine Blondeau was radiant as she was crowned, and the crowds cheered flower rightj, After the game, there was a number of parties. High school students and guests gathered in the gymnasium, while ex- alumnae also congregated elsewhere,

THE NEW YEAR After the holidays, Sophomore girls, under the guidance of the Junior cheer- leaders, began practicing for the cheer- leader tryouts fleftj, Ruth Sander received the highest score on the Betty Crocker test and, on January 22, was announced the Betty Crocker Homemaker of Tomorrow. Studying and just plain cramming came to a head January 23-25 when Mid- term exam time arrived fcenterj, On January 28, the Seniors met and decided on New Orleans as their Senior trip destination. The Daughters of the American Revo lution named Elaine Blondeau the D.A.R. Good Citizen on February 4, Boys donned their suits and girls their better dresses on February 15 for Senior class pictures fbottomj.
