THE SPIRIT BEHIND THE CUBS One ofthe many ways Cub boosters showed their support was forming two lines at half-time to welcome the team back into the game The Cubbettes sold booster tags each week to raise money to go to the games, They also sold Bumper stickers stating Cub Booster, Of course, BHS's pep squad, the Cubbettes, attended every game, and, along with the cheerleaders, led the cheering for the Cubs, The boys at BHS, convinced that the Cubbettes were not making enough noise, organized a pep squad of their own. There was much friendly rivalry between the two clubs, resulting in a super cheering section.

THE FIRST PEP RALLY On the morning of September 14, we rocked the gymnasium with our enthusiastic backing of the Cub football team at the first pep rally before the first game. The band cheerleaders, and student body went all out to show their loyalty to the Cubs, GAME TIME AT LAST! Our band was tops. How could they be otherwise with these lovely lasses to lead them? CUB SWEETHEART And here is a picture of Connie as she appeared at that game when she ma- nipulated the first kick -off of the season as her first official duty as Cub sweetheart

CLUB - CLASS EVENTS September 18 was a big day for all Seniors, as that was the day the Senior rings arrived fleftj. The Spanish Club initiation fmiddle lefty, on October 3, led the list of such activities, including initiations for new members of the F.H.A, fOctober 81, F.F.A. fOctober 25j, Latin Club fOctober 301, and N.H.S. fNovember 25, On October 4, the BRENHAMITE staff held its first meeting flower leftj to get organized and discuss the first yearbook sale, to be held on the ninth, and class photos, to be taken on the tenth. Many BHS boys and girls entered exhibits at the Washington County Fair, October 12-14, Suzann Seidel, F.F.A. candidate, was crowned Fair Queen this year, Senior band members rejoiced when their jackets arrived in mid-October,
