through language It looks as if Jenny, Lynn, and Doris are cramming for a Spanish test. The motto of all Latin classes is that Latin lives today. People do not realize that many of the words in the English language, as well as other languages, are based on Latin. The first year Latin students studied mythological stories gaining much knowledge in the cultures of countries. The second year students saw Caesar through the Gallic Wars. 7 The Spanish class under the direction of Mrs. Clemens has learned many things. They not only learned to speak, read, and write the Spanish language but they became more acquainted with the culture of the people and the country.
