paw ,ew ww aa: ya. 7,4 Our two plays You Can't Kiss Caro1ine and Mother Is A Freshman were smashing successes. They were hard work with plenty of rehearsals and just plain memorizing. Mr. McNew and Mr. Luttrull showed amazing patience with us and we tip our hats to them. At the conclusion of our sen- ior play the best acting award was given to Merl Heckaman. Kissing seems to be contagious. At least that is the way it appears. Virginia Bowser is presenting our two directors, Mr. McNew and Mr. Luttrull, with their gifts. You can guess who won the Senior Acting Trophy, and you can tell by looking at Merl he isn't a bit proud. Remember when Kirk kissed Sue? The first thing we did was to choose our theme. After much debate Spring- time in Paris was chosen. We engaged Tiny Williams as our band and chose Don Fel- ten and Sue O'Connor as our King and Queen. Finally the big day arrived. First the banquetwas held in the cafe- teria. From the cafeteria we went to the Legion Hall where we danced and Cooksey, the Clown entertained. A special movie was shown at the thea- ter after the dance. Break- fast and more dancing were then held at the V.F.W. It was indeed a memorable night and was enjoyed by all. When the final curtain fell on our Senior Play, Mother Is A Fresh- man , thejudges presented Merl Heckarnan with the Best Acting Trophy. Another highlight of the year was when the Senior Class and faculty chose Marjorie Wolfe to represent our school as D.A.R. Good Citizen. Morris Brownwas chosen to attend Hoosier Boys State and Maridee Balsley and Marjorie Wolfe were our representatives at Hoosier Girls State. I8
