Flora: Alas, alack, ah, woe is me, l'm sad and lonely as can be Shene: Gone are those carefree days of yore At Bremen High at the northeast door. Together: How true. Flora: Ah, good old class of '50 l wonder if they're still so nifty Shene: Ah, no-those kids from the Atomic Age In history books will fill a page. Flora: Now, Lyle, tell me do Who has told these facts to you? Shene: Some friends of ours, Louis, Who are bringing us the dope on that class They've been around and know what to say Of the news about each lad and lass. Together: Oh, way down there in Bremen Town And there our good friends sit them down They sit and think, and then they think some more, As they recall sweet days of yor Enter Stump and Smith: E. How d'ya do, we've come to greet you, 'Tis the time for us to meet you. Flora: Yes, the day has come for you and us to say hello. Shene: Of our old classmates we would know, Flora: What has become of our friends so tried and true? Shene: Rowe and Loucks, Flora: Keyser and Mattern, Together: Leeper, too? Smith: Just ask us any questions, We'll tell you if we can, For we know all the answers: Yep, we're some learned men. Flora: What has become of Jack Shively That guy who was the King? Stump: He's working in a barber shop, With spats and everything. Smith: Ames's now in radio He's quite successful in it, He's working on a Scotch hook-up, Stump: A thousand words a minute. Smith: Now, Stump, let me speak first ' we 6 aaa 50 Scene: The World Characters: Louis Flora, Don Stump, Ray Smith, and Lyle Shenefield Stump: Smith: Stump: Smith: Stump: Smith: Stump Smith: Stump Shene: Stump Flora: Smith: Stump: Smith: Shene: I pledge myself to tell the worst: Jane Glomp, that brilliant brain Now scrubs the streets-does now com- plain. Louis Hardy's won the Ping Pong game Which brought him Nat'l champion fame. And lvar Martin now totes a can A He's made assistant garbage man. Say, there's a home in Plymouth Where all old maids do now reside Miss Carol Arch does knit all day With Martha Bornemann by her side. Caroline Kling once so small ls making heaps and heaps of dough She ate too much and now she is Fat lady at the circus show. And Lewis Brown, if you recall, All up and down the halls did roar Now he lets gobs of hot air out As champion soap box orator. While Helen Mutti at the Comet Can now be seen for one thin dime She beats Mae West in many ways Her line's, Come up and see me some time. Wilma, Marian, and Mary E. Are billed as Flit, and Flat, and Flutter By dancing in a sister act They earn their bread and butter. What became of Miller's Phil Who charmed the girls so much? He's in the movies now because He has that-you know-Sinatra touch. And John Hans with his band? ln spite of all the groans and boo's He's put Woody Herman and his crew All back to shining boots and shoes. The wrestling champion of the world Will reign for years and years to come He's known as killer Rooney now But only Bill Jones to some. Where's that brunette we liked so well? Carol Seymour was her name. L l

Smith: A warbler of the blues is she On the Snappy Soap Suds hour. Stump: The leading athlete ln all the U.S.A. ls Ted Haas, who eats His spinach every day. Shene: And Wayne Keyser, now where is he? Smith: He's still in Bremen there And if he's good and works heal hard, They'll put him in Broadway. Stump: When we were visiting We to the White House went And Mary Ellen Hochstettler was reigning there As woman president. Smith: Eddie Heckaman is a doctor now And a very good one too The horses that he treats are soon Returned as good as new. Flora: And what became of Drudge the goon Who caused the boys to swoon? Smith: l saw her last at the Hofbrau Cleaning a spittoon. Stump: Mary Ann Knoblock's found her calling No longer does she sing, For she is now a blacksmith Making her anvil ring. Shene: l often think Janice Schurr Was quite a doll, Smith: Now she is known as queenie At the place she's queen of them all. Stump: By reciting just one story Bob Babcock found his glory Smith: Down at the corner with his pail He's selling his ice-worm cocktail. Flora: And what of Doris and her fiddle? She's joined forces with hey, dicldle, diddle She toots around all day in her Ford Searching in vain for one lost chord. Stump: Running a store on Plymouth Street There's a gal that can't be beat She'lI cure your athletic foot in a day ln Koontz's Drugstore, the Kaylou Smith way. Shene: What of Paul Smith, the basketball star? Smith: He was caught driving a red beer wagon And on its side in colorful paint Was a pink plaid dancing dragon. Stump: When Marilyn Cripe, the skating girl, Sought fame in the icy rink She found out that her only fate Was doing dishes in a sink. Smith: The champion lady wrestler Of all the forty-eight states ls husky Dorthula Patterson The crowds all think she's great. Stump: Now Rex Allen was voted Most likely to succeed As the leading track star, He wins all cups indeed. Smith: There's a new kind of census To succeed the Gallup Polls lt is headed by none other Than our own LaVerne Soales. Flora: Remember the boy with the curly black hair, His name was Don Stitcher? Stump: He forfeited all, even Lauren Bacall To become an undertaker. Smith: This year's fashions are the best And you can bet they'll pass the test. Stump: The person who made them so lovey ls Herb Hueni, the women's dovey. Smith: Aukie and Musser were chosen as beauties And now acclaimed as this year's cuties. Stump: Ronnie Rolland is on the stage- He charges for admission: He's giving Bing Crosby quite A lot of competition. Flora: The Bremen Class of '50 ls really not so nifty. Shene: l know that every senior With many a sad sweet sigh Recalls the fun he used to have All: At good old Bremen High. Smith: KLooking at the ringing Alarm Clockl What's this? Well, bless my soul. lt's time for us to go. So come along, my cherub, lt's getting late, you know. Stump: lt seems the class of '50 ls calling for attention, So let's go back To see their class convention.
