SUMMARY OF GIRLS BASKETBALL TEAM The Bremen Basketball fans have rated the girls' high school team of this season as one of the best in many previous years. The girls lost few games this season and the spirit of thc team, as well as of the spectators, was shown by much enthuiasm and cheering. There was a large number of girls who went out for basketball this season. The team was always ready for practice, much to the delight of our well trained and most likable coach, Mr. Frank Kaley, to whom we owe a salute. Weiwould never have gotten dressed or our clothes put in place if we had not had such a capable and interested manager as Margaret Ann Church, to whom we are ever grateful. The team,s sportsmanship with other schools, as well as with each other, was highly praised. The girls especially showed good sportsmanship when the first team was chosen. ln most of the games, sly plays were used which usually added two points to our score. These plays were practiced long, hard hours before they were successful in a game. The first team consisted of seniors with an exception of one who was a junior. The ones who usually played the ball games to a final victory and who fought and struggled hard for every point were: Forwards, Center, Arlene Woods, Right For- ward, Hilda Ayers, Left Forward, Hellen Pierce, those who kept the other teams from scoring points and who so smoothly recovered the ball to the forwards were: Guards, Center, ,lean Bishop, Right Guard, Agnes Bennett, Left Guard, Alice Camp. The substitutes were always ready if any of them were needed. They were: Hazel Kierbow, Lois Camp, Phyllis Lovvorn, Jean Pritchard, Phyllis Easterwood, Rudine Kierbow, Nell Akin and Ruth Pierce. This season of basketball was one to be long remembered both by the team and the excited onlookers.
