SENICDR CLASS HISTCJRY WE, THE SENIOR CLASS OF I946 ln September of l942, about forty' Freshmen gathered in the hall of dear old Bremen High School for the first time. immediately we started to work getting our class organized under the leadership of Mr. Jerry Hastings. Yes, that was the begin- ning for us, too, f'Build the Ladder on which we climb. We then began working very hard to raise money for our treasury. and selling magazines was our specialty, and also collecting paper for the paper drive. It didnit take us long to make our class 100 per cent on the Red Cross fund and we were proud of the sticker we won to put in our window. We proved that we could stick together to the end of the year even if we were Freshmen. Our class colors being Blue and White. Our second climb began in our Sophomore year with Miss McBride as our teacher, who helped us even more in our upward journey. We were honored by having six new members who as the year went by proved their patriotism to the class. Our treasury fund was still increasing. It was great fun in collecting votes for our King and Queen in our Halloween Festival. We worked very hard in decorating our gym in many bright colors. We held our Christmas party in the Home Economics Build- ing. Everyone had a wonderful time. We then enjoyed two weeks' vacation for Christ- mas. The latter part of the season was filled with many parties given by several mem- bers of the class. We were very enthused upon taking our place in the Junior class in 1944, as happy' as ever, we began by electing Margaret Ann Church as our president and set to work for a jolly but successful junior year. This year we began by selling 'featsii at football and basketball games and raising money by entering many contests. What's cooking? What's the matter? Why, of course! Ronnie Otwell has just be- gun his 'alittle but loudi' career in f'What A Life. a hilarious comedy acted by the hilarious members of our class. presented March 16. VHS. It was the talk of the town lbut what else could you expect from our classl. Never was there a happier class when we were picking out our class rings, but arenit they all? After a uget togetheri' by the Junior and Senior classes, it was decided upon that we .luniors treat the Hflraduating Class of i0-45 to a trip to Pine Mountain on the twenty'-fourth day of Wlay. We enjoyed the trip there and back. We had our lunches at the liock Tavern looking down upon the Pine Mountain Valley. We thought it one of the most beautiful places we had ever seen. We had plenty of entertainment such as horseback riding. swimming. and dancing. We took a tour of the WdI'I1l Springs lfoundation and enjoyed every minute of our trip. This trip and our other activities will always linger in our hearts. ln the spring we departed for another three months of a very enjoyable sunnner. Then came the big event we had all been looking forward to. On the fourth day of September again we reorganized to begin our Senior year of high school. And were we strutting, as all Seniors do. We really praised our football team that fall and again participated wholeheartedly in selling food at the games. The boys' Foot- ball Banquet went over with a bang. What eats! What fun! Since this is the first annual that has been published by the Bremen High School in some time. tithe Senior Class of t94,6'7 put their heads together to make it possi- ble. So as we leave we feel we have done our part in advancing our alma mater.
