PRESIDENTIAL CLASSROOM This year. Senior. Jean Deneka and. Junior, Lynn Burnson were the lucky two that attended the Presidential Classroom from Bremen. The trip was a week full of governmental seminars and historical landmark visits. They were chosen to go on this trip to Washington D.C. because of their ideas expressed in an essay they wrote. This opportunity is open to any Junior or Senior who is interested in this educational experience. Senior. Jean Deneka Presidential Classroom was the most exciting and memorable experience of my life. I participated in seminars, toured the city, met with my senators and representatives, and socialized with people from all over the country. To actually experience the political scene and to listen to political speakers was far more interesting and educating than from reading it in a book. It was also a very special experience to have the opportunity of developing lifelong friendships in such a short period of time. I highly recommend the trip as a valuable learning experience dealing with the government, as well as. with people. This trip was the best thing that ever happened to me. a memory that will never fade. Jean Deneka Junior. Lynn Burnson Before going to Washington D.C., I had a few ideas of what government was like. After participating in the Presidential Classroom for Young Americans, I realized that even the few ideas I had did not compare to the actual experience of spending seven days at our nation's capital. The seminars, workshops, and various speakers taught me more about government than could ever be learned in a history class. One of the most interesting parts of Presidential Classroom was the meeting and talking with the students from other states. I learned how similar people my age from various parts of the country really are. The seven days I spent in Washington D.C. was an experience that will never be equaled and will always be remembered. Lynn Burnson
