2 Creating Campus Colors! Color — where would the world be without color? Just as it is important to the artist to decide what colors and tones to use in his paintings. So is color important to us in our daily lives? Here, at Bremen, color is also important. For example, the color of our clothes reflect our attitudes and feelings, whether they be extremely happy or down-right gloomy. On the pages before you. we have selected some of the most vibrant pictures to display the feelings around Bremen. Seniors: Show their fire of red. Juniors: Seem to be in a blue mood. Sophomores: Look like they are ready for St. Pat’s Day. Freshmen: Ask why yellow? Below: One Bremen student decided to display her Homecoming Spirit on her sleeve. This year, a new dance was added to the roster at Bremen. It was, obviously, the Halloween dance. A number of students paraded in the gym with wild and ingenious costumes. Still others wore the usual Halloween get-ups, such as cowboys, ghosts, and cool dudes from the fifties. A contest was held and Tom Ramsey took first place as the now-controversial Boy George. All of the students that participated that evening danced the night away to their favorite tunes. The Halloween dance is surely to be remembered and it is likely to be an annual event for the coming years. Watch Out Ghosts And Goblins, Here Conies B.H.S. This year Bremen High School provided many activities and all kinds of entertainment to help every one get into the Christmas spirit. Concert In The Courtyard This year was slightly different for the Bremen band spring concert. Instead of being held in the West gym, it was set in the courtyard on a beautiful spring evening. Because of this, a wonderful atmosphere was created for the parents and the students who attended the concert. As usual, the musical talents of the members of the band were displayed and enjoyed. Mr. Hollingsworth, the conductor of Bremen’s band, did a stupendous job that evening and throughout the entire year. Many students received awards this year for their musical talents and solos. Junior, Lynn Burnson were the lucky two that attended the Presidential Classroom from Bremen. The trip was a week full of governmental seminars and historical landmark visits. They were chosen to go on this trip to Washington D.C. because of their ideas expressed in an essay they wrote. This opportunity is open to any Junior or Senior who is interested in this educational experience. Senior. Jean Deneka Presidential Classroom was the most exciting and memorable experience of my life. I participated in seminars, toured the city, met with my senators and representatives, and socialized with people from all over the country. To actually experience the political scene and to listen to political speakers was far more interesting and educating than from reading it in a book. It was also a very special experience to have the opportunity of developing lifelong friendships in such a short period of time. I highly recommend the trip as a valuable learning experience dealing with the government, as well as. with people. This trip was the best thing that ever happened to me. a memory that will never fade. Jean Deneka Junior. Lynn Burnson Before going to Washington D.C., I had a few ideas of what government was like. After participating in the Presidential Classroom for Young Americans, I realized that even the few ideas I had did not compare to the actual experience of spending seven days at our nation's capital. The seminars, workshops, and various speakers taught me more about government than could ever be learned in a history class. One of the most interesting parts of Presidential Classroom was the meeting and talking with the students from other states. I learned how similar people my age from various parts of the country really are. The seven days I spent in Washington D.C. was an experience that will never be equaled and will always be remembered. Badminton and Basketball. There were a number of points given for every event. The Junior Leadership Class won the event with the score of 30-16. Turnabout ’85 One More Night One More Night, the theme of this year's Turnabout Dance, was not only a hit on the radio in 1985. but it also made an impression in all of the hearts of the couples that attended the dance. Each girl had that special guy in mind; but she had to find the courage to ask him. which follows the tradition of this dance. For the Spring Concert this year, there was much talk and excitement beforehand about the wonderful show that was to be performed. It was felt in the audience alone that this was the best concert in years. New singers were introduced and the crowd was amazed. There were the old pros, who continued their singing talents throughout the night. The dance routines were stupendous and creative. As I stand putting on my graduation robe, I'm looking around the hallway seeing people I have known since I first started grade school, and others who I met when I came to Bremen. Everyone is trying to remember on which side the tassel goes, but I remember all the things that have happened during these last four years. I smile as I remember the things we did our senior year. I smile more when I think how afraid I was my freshman year. I puff up a little as I remember how sure we were as sophomores, and how great we were as juniors. As more and more memories come flooding back, the music begins the graduation ceremony. I realize that many of these people will no longer be a part of my life. I see people I never thought would make it to graduation. Suddenly it's my turn to step up and get my diploma. I smile again, for the camera, for Mom and Dad. for me. and for all those four years I leave behind. Some people cry while some fight back the tears at graduation. I smile. I’m sure when it’s all over I might be one of those holding back the tears. Then again, every time I think about some of those things we did......I’ll smile all over again! Derrick Boyd leads the National Anthem. w The Speeches Awarding Of Diplomas . . . n order for a school to function to the best of its ability, many students and staff must spend a lot of time organizing activities. Eventually those boundaries” of lines and angles are filled in with color and animation. Each story is different and each character is his her own person. Those who draw the lines are like the cartoonist people who have an interest in the story of each character. We, here at Bremen, just call them faculty and staff. Although Spirit Week did not turn out to be the best event of our year, it was an event that saw the junior class come together and work hard as a team. Now being juniors we have reached some of the academic and athletic goals we had set before us in our first years at Bremen. We are now ready to set forth higher goals to reach and strive harder to reach them.
