With help of Mr. Miller and the Bremen Cheerleaders Mrs. Rose Kennelly presents our school with a new flag in dedication of her late husband William Kennelly. Nancy Knight in action. Memories are an important part of our lives. All that we do will be a memory in the future. Some of our memories are of everyday activities such as classes, friends, and such, but some memories are of the strange and unusual things that we do. There are also those saddening memories of loved ones that pass away from time to time. Memories are things that you should keep with you always, because they are worth living for tomorrow. The Memories Of The Past Are Remembered Before joining the work force at Bremen High School, Bill Kennelly had been active in the community of Midlothian for many years. He, along with other residents, were instrumental in founding of the Midlothian Highland Games. Bill was a great patriot being very active in the Midlothian VFW and before his death in October of 1980, he had risen to the rank of District Officer. As told by his wife, Rosemary, Bill believed the home of the Brave belonged to the Brave people of our community.” On the evening of the Miss Midlothian Contest, The Highland Games Officials presented a flag to Mrs. Kennelly in Bill's honor to show their appreciation for all the work he had done for the Highland Games. At our first Homecoming assembly, Mrs. Kennelly presented the flag to the students of Bremen High School. This flag replaced the old flag and now hangs in the west gymnasium. Now that's relaxing! An example of pure dedication In the sense of creativity Bremen students show great dedication. From a devotion to school work of all sorts to spirited loyalty for the many different Bremen activities. Dedication is a vital part of this school, and it can be seen in many faces and places throughout the year. Dedication is seen with great loyalty as the cheerleading squad braves out the foul weather Their Own Style Of Dedication Paul Kennedy and Jim Kmet attempt the impossible Studying in the commons room is no easy task, nor is cheerleading on a cold wet day, or working on a van that looks beyond repair, but does that stop Bremen students? No!, and they even find time for a little innocent fun. A simple curiosity shown by Mike Larsen and Scott Woods. Opening 3

Left Michelle Basick and Kathy Murphy: Friendship personified. Below Santa - friend to all. Above Friends. Patricia. Janice, Pat. Wanda, Hilda, clown for the camera. The Joys Of Old Friends And Of New Friendship starts with a simple “Hi, how are you”, and from then on it’s one great adventure after another. We learn to see our friends as ourselves and appreciate everything about them. There are times to laugh and shout for joy, and there are times to cry from hopeless sorrow. With a friend the days seem so pleasantly happy, and all our dreams come true. “High school friends are something you'd like to hold on to all of your life if you could. That seldom happens though. There are those occasional friendships that do last, but more often than not old friends leave and make room for new ones. That's growing up, I guess. The only compensation that we have are the memories of those friends. Later on, I think I’ll look back and realize just how important they were.” Robert Jager 1978 Bremen Graduate Opening 5
