For Girls Only Powder Puff Football wasn’t as easy as it looked. All of the girls put a lot of energy into the game. They played at their best and gave it their all. This event, although new, was a great suc- cess. The game was official with four eight minute time periods. The referees were on the spot to call penalties and make crucial decisions. The referees were Mr. D'Ambro-sio, Mr. Novak, Mr. Johnson, and Mr. Magurany. The sophomores won the Frosh-Soph game with final score of 18-12. The Seniors won the Junior-Senior game with a score of 24-0. Although the Juniors lost they gave a good fight, played well and showed good sportsmanship. Amy Peters making a quick get — away play. The New Event This year the Homecoming Committee decided to add a new event. This new event was Powder Puff Football. This event allowed girls from all four class levels to participate if they were interested. Tryouts were held and the final teams were picked. The girls organized their teams into offense and defense and worked on their strategies for the “big game”. Powder Puff Football was more than just a new event it was a chance for the girls to learn to work together and become one as a team. They all had one common goal that united them; to play their best and to win. This event also gave the girls a chance to show the boys that they weren't the only ones who could play football. Coach Jones gives the Freshmen the last minute strategy. The day Of the games An acjion Vjew 0f the Frosh-Soph game from the sidelines, was warm and sunny. The captains drew slips of paper to see who would play who. The Freshmen played first and won against the Sophomores. The second game was the Juniors against the Seniors. The Seniors proved victorious and the Juniors never scored. The girls alone weren't the only ones who participated in the event. Willing guys from all classes made up a cheerleading squad. As in the past the traditional Ta-I i s m a n events Played a large part in the Homecoming of 81. It is for the students Overcoming Challenges ... the everlasting challenge. The four class years as well as the clubs participated in the Talisman events. These events offer challenge in two ways. The first is to strive to complete the event to the best of your ability. The second is to have the fastest time and win the Talisman event overall. The class winners were Sopho- mores and the club winners were B-CLUB. The events were supported by The classes with cheers and general overall spirit. The Seniors show their spirit through their red attire.
