Today Was Fun, Wasn’t it Friend? C'EST . oday was fun, wasn't it friend? When we let your Mom’s parakeet loose in the house, even though we did get into trouble. Today was fun, wasn't it friend? Especially when we went into the park and brought a picnic lunch. Today was fun, wasn't it friend? Even though the cake we tried to make didn't turn out like our Mom’s do. Today, was fun, wasn't it friend? When my Mom said that you could spend the night, and we were both so happy. Today was fun, wasn’t it friend? When Bremen was first dedicated on November 8, 1953, it was a facility that was designed to meet the needs of the high school age students in Midlothian, Posen, Markham, Oak Forest, and Tinley Park. Since this time, as the communities increased, three other schools had to be built to keep up with these growing needs. So on Sunday, March 4, 1979, there was more than just a building to acknowledge, there was the work of many people who efforts had contributed to the sucess of Bremen. The original dedication was performed by Senator Everett Dirksen, just as many notables gathered then, so did many notables gather to rededicate Bremen on its 25th Anniversary. Past Valedictorians and Salue-tatorians were present to witness the dedication of the wall honoring their academic achievements. Plaques of the past Valedictorians and Salutatorians as well as pictures of the present students will be placed on this wall to encourage acheivement in the school academics. Also attending the ceremonies were special guests including original staff members, administrators and well wishers. The Bremen of today recalls many of the favorite traditions of yesterday-Little Joe, sock hops, proms, assemblies, hall decoration. and a willingness to adapt quickly to the needs of the community. 15
