WICHITA FALLS - The Bucks suffered their first defeat of the season from the powerful Wichita Falls Coyotes with a score of 13-O. The last half was turned ove r to the second- stringers, who did agood job of keeping the Bob- cats in their end of the field although there was no scoring. AUSTIN, EL PASO--The Buck a r oo s defeated Austin ofElPaso by a score of 37-14 in athrilling game opening with two plays seldom, if ever, seen in T e xa s schoolboy football. Both teams scored in thirty-five seconds of play by running back kickoffs all the way. But due to the violation of a minor interscholastic league rule, the game had to be forfeited a week later. Then B. Dendy took the Lions' kick-off on his Z0 and ran all the way to tie up the score 6-6. Fromthere on it was the Bucks' game. Keith made a touchdown in the second period and another in the third. A pass from Ford to Beasley and another to Keith produced the other two s c o r e s of the game. D 3 a Wei 'git' L1 M LAMESA - The Buckaroos, met the Lamesa Golden Tornadoes at Sweetwater for the bi- district tilt, in a breath-taking thriller. In the first quarter, B. Dendy scored a touchdown and Keith kicked the extra point. The score at the half remained 7-0. In the third period the Tornadoes made a touchdown, with the Bucks still leading 7-6. Then the Tornadoes scored another seven points in the fourth quarter. But with only 80 second to play, Keith leaped over a pile-up for six precious points, which tied the score 13-13. As the fans stood breathless, Keith kicked and it was good! The Bucks won by the slim margin of 14-13 to gain semi-finals. Norman Russell . W.L. Dendy produced the first score of the game mid-way in the first quarter. The second period was scoreless. A 58 yard sprint by Phariss, a pass from Ford to Keith, who ran 13, a run of 12 yards by Phariss, and three extra points by Keith made a score of 27- t the end of the third quarter. The Tigers scored once in the fourth. Morton hoisted a sh. n the end zone to Noletubby for the final Buck sc . This victory gave the Bucks the rig to meet Temlpe once again in State Finals. It was the second consecutive year these two teams battled for this honor. Temple started the scoring with seven points in the first quarter and six in the second, Four minutes in the second quarter, Ford passes ll yards to Keith for a touchdown and Keith converted. Then W, Greenlee intercepted a pass from Traylor and ran seven yards for a score, and Keith kicked, making the score 14-13, A touchdown pass from Tray- lor to Ernest put Temple in the lead Z0-14 at the half. The Bucks seemed to come back stronger after the half, while the Wildcats weakened. Keith plunged one yard for a touchdown and made the extra point in the third period. In the fourth, Dendy made the final tally, making 28-20 the final score, and the Bucks 1952 AAA Champs. All was general confusion as the fans ran out on the field to congratulate coaches and team.
