The Homecoming Revue The Juniors struggle valiantly during the tugof war. Homecoming . .. What a week! It began with the popular tradition of dress-up days. Throughout the week, people ran through the halls wearing flowered shirts, class '‘uniforms'', the garb of their favorite hero, and blue and gold haberdashes. School spirit was much higher than usual. Thursday, homecoming day. was filled with activities; the coronation. The Pep Fest. and the sports. The festivities commenced with the coronation. The crowd waited breathlessly to see who the Breck 1984 Homecoming King and Queen would be. Chris Ashley and Bryan Soth were crowned by Mr. Yonker and Mrs. Michael-son. and the chapel was filled with the noise of cheers, laughter, congratulations. and popping balloons. Everyone then went to the lunchroom for the Homecoming Banquet complete with ca-tawba juice for the royal court. The Pep Fest followed the Banquet, beginning with the strenuous tug f-war in which the Seniors prevailed. Then, many of the teams did short skits including a rather unique tennis performance by Kim Burnet and an injured Mr. Kordosky. The emcees of the event were Sarah Flotten and Caroline Doyle, who succeeded in getting everyone psyched for the Home coming sports. It was to become a day of glory with almost every team leaving the school victorious. The highlight of the evening was the football game. The football team played spectacularly, coming from behind to defeat St. Paul Academy 21-15. Halftime featured a parade with floats constructed by students. Encouraged by a fifty dollar prize for the best float, the International Club won with its representation of global friendship. Second place was captured by a float depicting a group of SPA Busters • very appropriate.
