Weekend detour in the woods, to be named the most honest team. After calming down a bit, the seniors formed discussion groups. Topics like the characteristics of a friend, future plans, and greatest hopes and fears kept the seniors communicating with unusual openness. During breaktime, the seniors amused themselves with some volleyball matches, tackle football (the guys led by several varsity players against the girls led by a fiercely competitive Karen Hanson), and soccer. Kim Burnet even managed to sprain her thumb by catching a football. Along with building unity and friendship, the seniors also built towers. Equipped only with materials such as paper clips, markers, tagboard, and their own creativity, the groups began construction. The towers were judged on height, beauty, stability, and economy. They ranged from the winner (lots of stability and beauty) to the social commentary tower (definitely economical). The evening culminated with a dance inside and a bonfire outside. Music could be heard everywhere; inside there was a rock band, and with the help of Mr. Rosenfield's guitar playing, the fire was ablaze with song. The next morning, after a meeting, free time, and packing, the seniors returned to Breck ... unified, happy, and extremely tired. 7 Sophia Clopath — our Swiss Miss 8 Debbie.
